This is Daylan. He is a 15-year-old battling Cystic Fibrosis. He lives in Tennessee with his mother and 3 siblings. Daylan’s mother reached out to the Urgent Financial Assistance Program in 2019 asking for help with her electricity bill. Having electricity is a basic need of survival. As an integral part of treatment for managing the symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis, Daylan needs to use his airway clearance vest and nebulizer twice a day. In addition to the standard treatment for managing cystic fibrosis, Daylan has the added stress of doing nightly tube feeding to help him maintain and put on weight.
Due to all of Daylan’s doctor’s appointments, his mother has been unsuccessful in holding a job. With the support of our donors, UFA was able to help Daylan’s family get caught up on their electricity bill so that he could continue to do his treatments outside of the hospital and live life as a normal 15-year-old.
